On Dreams
Art direction, performance & narrative by Zacha. A.
Filming & editing by John Koits
In this project I curated and rehearsed a video clip for the release of Extase Urbaine's album "Our Dreams Circling Near" on DISSOLUT. This video was created under a very strict lockdown during the covid pandemic, while the inspiration came from the feeling of restriction; not only on its literal sense but also the feeling of being restricted by your owns dreams and the eagerness to create a new world and a new version of yourself. The video was followed by a narrative describing the idea in a nonobjective way.
In my dreams I dream of another me.
A distorted version of my own self surrounded by an uncanny space.
The objects are enlivened, where's my very own self is absorbed by the ongoing whirlpool of my thoughts, that are dancing spasmodically around me.

My thoughts are morphing the space to welcome a disparate world to the one we live in.

But which world is real?

Is it an optical illusion occurring behind our closed eyelets or a mirage taking place in front of our wide oped eyes?

Our dreams circling near us.
Our dreams circling around us.
Our dreams circling within us.

Our dreams are real; we are lost inside them_
